MATT SKIBA AND THE SEKRETS' Debut Album "Babylon" Lands as #1 on Billboard Heatseekers Charts Babylon, the highly anticipated debut album from MATT SKIBA AND THE SEKRETS came out last week and has debuted at #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. In addition, Babylon charted as #17 on the Independent Current Albums Chart, #40 on the Top Current Rock Albums Chart, and #121 on the Top 200 Chart. The 10-track record produced by Cameron Webb [30 Seconds To Mars, Social Distortion, Pennywise] brings an engaging new musical twist, best described by Alternative Press Magazine as "...a textured record that combines Skiba's trademark dark-tinged punk sensibilities with an electronic edge inspired by '80s new wave." AMP Magazine says with Babylon, Matt Skiba has taken the time to "channel his inner Bowie," and UnderTheGunReview.net declares the album "a testament to Skiba's talents." A trooper, a vagabond, a minstrel and an artist - over the course of fifteen years and eight full-length albums as the lead singer/songwriter for Chicago's Alkaline Trio, Matt Skiba has been all of these things. Touring the world, his heart on his sleeve, Skiba has consistently penned some of the great dark pop anthems of the past decade. Skiba is an icon of the outsider and has remained a singular voice of a sub-genre he helped to create. MATT SKIBA AND THE SEKRETS Premieres "Voices" MATT SKIBA AND THE SEKRETS has teamed up with RCRDLBL.com for the premiere of their single "Voices". The catchy lead track is featured on the band's debut album, Babylon, which will be released next week, May 8 via Superball Music. The track, which Richard Sands of The Sands Report says "should be a smash!" is going for adds this week at Modern Rock and has already received airplay on 98 Rock in Los Angeles and The Edge in Dallas. Babylon was produced by Cameron Webb [30 Seconds To Mars, Social Distortion, Pennywise] and offers ten-tracks of addictively dancy rock and sing along melodies.
